Educational Structure & Academics

AGR Global School follows the CBSE curriculum, designed to promote conceptual understanding, critical thinking and 21st-century skills. Our academic structure is carefully planned to cater to every stage of a child’s growth – from the early years of Kindergarten to the career-shaping Senior Secondary classes.

Kindergarten (Pre-KG, LKG & UKG)

Our Kindergarten program combines Montessori and Play-way approaches, ensuring joyful and experiential learning. The focus is on building a strong foundation in communication, numeracy, and creativity.

Primary Level (Classes I – V)

The Primary curriculum introduces structured learning with a balance of core subjects and co-curricular exposure. Emphasis is placed on language proficiency, mathematics and environmental awareness.

  • Core Subjects: English, II Language (Tamil/Hindi), Mathematics, Environmental Studies (Classes I–II), Social Science (from Class III)
  • III Language (Tamil/Hindi) for Classes I–V
  • Co-Scholastic Areas: Computer Science, Aptitude, Life Skills, Art & Craft, Dance, Music, Yoga, Sports, Library, Uniformed Services.
  • Focus: Communication skills, teamwork, and building independent learning habits.

Middle School (Classes VI – VIII)

At this stage, students engage in deeper subject knowledge with an emphasis on STEM and holistic development.

  • Core Subjects: English, II Language (Tamil), III Language (Hindi/Tamil), Mathematics, Physical Science, Biological Science, Social Science, Computer Science.
  • Co-Scholastic Areas: Life Skills, Aptitude, Art & Craft, Dance, Music, Work Education, Yoga, Sports, Library, Uniformed Services, Future Skills (Digital Literacy & Coding)
  • Focus: Problem-solving, critical thinking, and leadership through academic and extracurricular platforms.

 

Secondary Level (Classes IX – X)

The CBSE curriculum at the secondary level ensures a strong academic base with life-oriented skills.

  • Core Subjects: English, II Language (Tamil/Hindi), Mathematics, Science & Technology, Social Science.
  • Additional Areas: Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Life Skills, Art & Craft, Dance, Music, Sports, Work Education, Library, Uniformed Services, Yoga.
  • Focus: Academic excellence, preparation for competitive exams, participation in Olympiads and Science projects.

 

Senior Secondary (Classes XI & XII)

Students choose from Science and Commerce streams, enabling them to pursue their career aspirations.

Group I – Science (PCM + CS)

  • English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science

Group II – Science (PCM + Bio)

  • English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science

Group III – Commerce

  • English, Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics, Mathematics/Computer Science
  • Focus: In-depth subject knowledge, project-based learning, career counseling, and preparation for competitive examinations like JEE, NEET, CA Foundation, and beyond.

 

Pattern of Assessment

Two Terms

  • Term I: April – September
  • Term II: October – March
  • Minimum 35% marks in each subject is required to qualify, as per CBSE norms.

Assessments include

  • Periodic Tests
  • Unit Tests
  • Assignments & Projects
  • Practical Work & Lab Activities
  • Oral & Activity-based Assessments
  • Students with 80% minimum attendance and no fee arrears are permitted to sit for examinations.

Scholastic & Co-Scholastic Subjects

  • Scholastic: Core academic subjects (Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Commerce).
  • Co-Scholastic: Life Skills, Art, Music, Dance, Sports, Yoga, IT, Value Education, Work Education, Uniformed Services.

Examination Rules

  • Students must report on time with hall tickets.
  • No unauthorized material is allowed in exam halls.
  • Sharing of stationery or question papers is prohibited.
  • Use of electronic gadgets (calculators, smart watches, phones) is strictly banned.
  • Malpractice will lead to immediate suspension and issue of a Transfer Certificate.
  • No re-tests will be conducted for absentees.

Promotion Criteria

  • Students must score a minimum of 35% in all subjects in cumulative assessment.
  • A minimum of 80% attendance is mandatory.
  • For prolonged illness, promotion may be considered on the basis of previous exam performance with medical proof.

Open Day System

  • Open Days are conducted thrice a year, giving parents an opportunity to meet the Principal, HMs, class teachers, and subject teachers.
  • Parents are expected to attend these sessions to review their ward’s academic progress and conduct.
  • This open platform ensures transparency and strong home–school collaboration.
